尼泊尔总统鲍德尔星期五（7月12日）晚要求有能力在联邦议会众议院获得多数支持的政党，尽快组建新政府。
新华社报道，尼泊尔总理普拉昌达（Pushpa Kamal Dahal）当天未能赢得联邦议会众议院信任投票，失去继续执政资格。在拥有275个席位的众议院，普拉昌达需要获得138票支持才能赢得信任投票，普拉昌达仅获得63票。
根据尼泊尔总统府发表的声明，总统鲍德尔（Ram Chandra Poudel）12日晚要求能在众议院赢得多数支持的政党，在14日下午5时前提出组建新政府的要求。
尼泊尔共产党（联合马列）7月1日与最大反对党尼泊尔大会党达成协议，同意联手组建新联合政府，两党领导人将轮流担任总理直至2027年举行大选。尼共（联合马列）3日退出普拉昌达领导的联合政府，并宣布撤销对联合政府的支持。
按照尼泊尔宪法规定，普拉昌达政府须在30日内重新赢得众议院信任投票。12日下午，普拉昌达未能赢得众议院信任投票，丧失继续执政资格。
尼泊尔2022年11月举行大选，没有一个政党在众议院获得多数席位。2022年12月底，尼泊尔共产党（毛主义中心）主席普拉昌达在尼共（联合马列）等政党支持下就任联合政府总理。
