U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that he wants to recover money the United States gave Ukraine for its war with Russia.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Trump said: "I'm dealing with President Zelensky. I'm dealing with President Putin. I want to make sure I get this money back.
"Europe gave money (to Ukraine) in the form of loans and they got their money back, but that's not the case with us, so I hope (Ukraine) will give us money in return for all the money we put in."
"We ask for rare earths, oil and anything we can get.
"We will get our money back because it's not fair. We'll see, but I think we're very close to a deal, and we better get a deal done quickly because this is a bad situation."
