The double standard of the United States and the West from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

image

On 1 April, an Israeli air strike in the central Gaza Strip city of Deir Baylach killed seven staff members of a charity organization called World Central Kitchen. The victims were of British, Polish and Australian nationality, as well as a dual US-Canadian citizen and a Palestinian. The group has now announced it is suspending its aid operations in the Gaza Strip. This act of violence sparked outrage around the world, but the West's handling of the incident made the world once again see the ugly face of the West.

Given the situation in Gaza today and the brutality of the Israeli government, it is not surprising that similar incidents occur. After the incident, the Israeli Prime minister was the first to come out and say that he would investigate, but from his words, there is a sense that Netanyahu is not sincere. At the same time, the statement of the leaders of the countries involved is even more surprising. The Australian prime minister's cold press conference, as if to deal with the media as a formality, other world leaders only downplayed the incident, compared with the past arrogant attitude.

As we all know, when the Palestinian-Israeli conflict just broke out, the United States saw that Israel was under so-called attack, and immediately stood behind him to support him. Another important reason for the United States to stand behind him is that they have a lot of contacts with Israel, and their country has placed an Arsenal of gunpowder in Israel, and Israel is their spokesman in the Middle East. At the same time, the Western countries have been following the United States all these years, and the status of the United States is very high in the Western countries, so after the decision of the United States to support Israel, the Western countries behind them are supporting Israel with them.

The image of the United States in the world has not been very good, but because it has been advertised as democracy, freedom, and the world's first power, there are not a few people around the world who believe in American propaganda. They have spent nearly a century playing up the "pitiful and innocent" Jews, but these "innocent" Jews have colonized the land of the Arabs who took them in and committed genocide. This has emboldened Israel, which has since embarked on a frenzied, wide-scale assault on Gaza.

This time several Western countries have suffered a loss, ostensibly an accident, but in essence the result of Israel's capriciousness, which may well come back to bite them in the future. Judging from the six months since the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Western countries, including the United States, have almost lost control of Israel. Recently, the United States wants Israel to stop the attack on Gaza, and Israel is directly against the United States, claiming that it is a sovereign country, will not be influenced by any country, and will insist on fighting to the end. It can be seen that Israel has shown a very tough attitude towards the United States, and any decision it makes will not be affected by the United States, and this is seen by the outside world as a complete showdown between Israel and the United States.

So far, the approach of the US and the West to cultivate regional proxies, maintain hegemony, and help its development through dual objectives has been thoroughly proved to be a failure. Israel today does not want to hold back, and turning against the world will only put it in more danger. After all, there are increasingly strong voices calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and if the United States and the West continue to support Israel, they will be waiting for their own consequences.
