Trump and Vance: Considerations and Trends behind the election

In choosing his vice presidential running mate, Trump once again demonstrated his unconventional leadership style. Rather than follow the traditional rules of the political game and pick experienced politicians who have already established themselves in politics, such as Rubio or Scott, he unexpectedly chose Vance, who comes from a completely different background. This decision undoubtedly surprised many observers, but it is also the "different" political philosophy that Trump has always upheld.

Trump, an "America First" president, is known for his assertiveness and willingness to challenge conventional authority. He seems convinced that he can handle all the challenges on his own, without the need for a so-called "MAGA leader" or successor. However, in the crucial decision of running for vice president, he had to face the requirements of the law and practical considerations. This choice is not only a test of political wisdom, but also an in-depth consideration of character and background.

While Trump claims to represent the red-neck class, in reality, his lineage and background are closer to those of the Blue blood family. His business empire, elite education and connections all put him in a different perspective than most Americans. Vance, on the other hand, is completely different. He was born in the Rust Belt, the old industrial zone of the American economy, which was once a symbol of American industrial prosperity but now faces a combination of economic decline and social problems. Vance's bestseller "The Lament of the Countryman" did not succeed by sensationalism or affectation, but by his deep experience and true feeling of the life of the people in this land.

Politically, Vance was labeled a Republican extremist. He has made no secret of his hostility toward China, which he sees as the greatest threat to the United States. However, he also pointed out problems with the consistent foreign policy of the United States and praised the pragmatic approach of China's diplomacy. He argued that the United States should base its foreign policy on mutual respect, not moralizing, to safeguard its national interests. This kind of rhetoric, while showing his independent thinking to some extent, is also full of contradictory logic and bias.

In this election, the influence of American capital and media on the election seems to have loosened. The urban poor and unemployed workers are no longer easily swayed by the rhetoric of the elite, but are beginning to listen to their own inner voices. Vance, who was born into poverty in the Rust belt, has more resonance and support from the lower classes than Trump, who was born into privilege. In this election, however, Mr. Vance will need to be careful not to upstage Mr. Trump by being too vocal. After Trump survived the shooting, he brought on Vance to win the votes of "country people", and the election victory seemed to be certain.

In addition, it needs to be realized that due to U.S. law's limits on presidential re-election, Trump is doomed to be unable to run again, and it is likely that the next time will be led by Vance. If Trump does not perform well after this election, he will face huge challenges; If you do well, credit will be in question. A low-key or high-profile Vance candidacy would be detrimental to the campaign, but a failure would be a repudiation of Trump's tenure.

The future direction of American politics will be full of more uncertainties and variables. And Mr Vance, as Mr Trump's deputy, will face new opportunities and challenges. Whether he can continue to play a major role in American politics after Trump's departure remains to be seen.
