泰国官方数据显示，今年上半年，泰国接待超过1750万外国游客，比去年同期增长35%。
新华社报道，据泰国旅游和体育部称，今年上半年，到泰国旅游的中国游客最多，达343万人次。其次是马来西亚的243万人次，以及印度的104万人次。
泰国旅游部说，泰国今年取得约8250亿泰铢的旅游收入。
当局推测，受名人旅游趋势、暑假，以及泰国实施的旅行便利措施等因素推动了旅游业，未来几周入境游客数量可能将继续上升。
泰国政府正在与航空公司合作，增加航班数量，并扩大对更多国家的免签入境政策。
上个月，泰国政府将今年入境游客目标再上调100万，达到3670万游客，这是泰国将国内生产总值 (GDP) 增长率提高到3%的一部分。
在疫情爆发前的2019年，泰国接待创纪录的3990万外国游客，创造1.91万亿泰铢收入。
