伊拉克石油部长说，伊拉克已经自愿减产了足够多的石油，不同意在来临的会议上支持延长减产措施。
路透社报道，伊拉克石油部长哈扬·阿卜杜勒·加尼（Hayan Abdul Ghani）星期六（5月11日）在出席一个活动期间回应称，伊拉克不会在石油输出国组织与俄罗斯等盟友（OPEC+，简称油盟+）于6月1日召开的会议上同意任何减产措施。
5月10日，油盟+发布声明称，伊拉克一再表示致力于遵守2023年协议的自愿减产计划，但却在2024年前三个月里，每日累计超出产量配额60万2000桶。该组织随后表明，巴格达已同意在今年剩余时间内进一步减产作为补偿。
今年3月，沙特能源部宣布将在4月至6月间继续每天自愿减产100万桶，使每日产量维持在900万桶左右。俄罗斯也宣布将在第二季度每日减产47万1000桶石油。随后，阿联酋、科威特、伊拉克和哈萨克斯坦也表明，将把现有的自愿减产期限延长至6月底。
