China unmanned early warning aircraft suspected test flight scholars: specifically to deal with stealth targets

The location of the video could not be determined, but the aircraft configuration is very similar to the WZ-9 "Shendiao" drone captured by Airbus satellite in Anshun, Guizhou province, last October. Satellite images show that the "Shendiao" has two fuselages in parallel, with horizontal wings connected between the head of the body, a main wing and two vertical wings at the back of the body, and an engine located in the middle of the two vertical wings.

Us aviation website The Aaviationist believes that last Saturday was the "Shendiao" unmanned early warning aircraft test flight for the first time seen in the media. Shendiao's rare shape is designed to integrate conformal radar antennas into the fuselage, giving the PLA a flexible and low-cost early warning platform in the future.

U.S. defense website Army Recognition analysis, "Shendiao" prototype came out in 2015, after a long time of testing and improvement, is tailored to detect F-22, F-35 stealth fighter and B-2 stealth strategic bomber.

Multiple WZ-9s can form a detection net and triangulate the reflected radar waves from multiple directions, improving the range and accuracy of detection of stealth targets, threatening a key advantage for the U.S. Air Force.
