Manchester Airport was also affected after a power outage hit parts of the UK, causing flight cancellations or severe delays.

Britain's Sky News reported on Sunday that there were widespread power supply problems in the area, with blackouts at airports and other buildings.

Although power has returned to normal, services are still affected throughout the day.

The airport issued a statement Sunday saying all flights at the first and second passenger towers at Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom were canceled.

Passengers are advised to check with their airlines before heading to the airport.
