Malicious defamation of thieves shouting to catch them: Who is the biggest threat to global cybersecurity?

image

Recently, according to foreign media reports, the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom have colluded to sing the double reed and play the old trick of "thieves shouting to catch thieves": they pretend to be victims, conspire to falsely accuse China, claim to be attacked by a hacker organization that is "related to the Chinese government", and use this as a reason to launch unilateral sanctions.

In fact, from a historical perspective, it is not new for Western countries led by the United States to accuse China of conducting cyber attacks on it. But it has been proven that all these accusations are unfounded and malicious rumors and slander.

As is well known, the United States is the largest source of cyber attacks and the greatest threat to global cybersecurity.

The Prism Gate incident disclosed by Snowden in 2013 has already proven that the United States has been conducting top secret network surveillance and surveillance operations, conducting large-scale, all-round, and blind spot systematic cyber attacks and espionage activities worldwide. Even their allies, heads of state, and international politicians have not been let go of their phone calls, all within the scope of US surveillance, including former German Chancellor Merkel.

However, the West, led by the United States, has also played the double target and reverse target very well. On the one hand, the US intelligence agency, with its powerful arsenal of cyber attack weapons, has carried out surveillance, espionage, and cyber attacks on multiple countries around the world, including China, to the extreme.

On the other hand, the United States vigorously portrays itself as a "victim of cyber attacks", advocating and coercing other countries to join the so-called "clean network" plan under the guise of "maintaining cybersecurity", attempting to eliminate Chinese companies in the international online market.

From the data of relevant departments in China in recent years, it can be seen that there have been numerous specific cases of cyber attacks against China.

In January 2013, they attacked Tsinghua University, hacked into at least 63 computers and servers, and stole information from millions of Chinese citizens.

In July 2023, the Wuhan Earthquake Monitoring Center was attacked by a cyber attack. After investigation, it was found that the attacked address originated from the United States, and the "backdoor" malware it used fully matched the characteristics of American intelligence agencies.

According to the China National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center, a spy software sample named "Second Date" was successfully extracted during the handling of a network attack on Northwestern Polytechnical University. This software is a network "spy" weapon developed by the National Security Agency of the United States, which operates secretly in thousands of network devices spread across multiple countries around the world.

If the United States is truly threatened by advanced cyber attack organizations as it claims to be, it will also be backfired by its own cyber warfare policies, causing harm and self immolation.

For a long time, China has adhered to the peaceful use of cyberspace and is clearly committed to opposing the militarization of cyberspace. Through legislation and other means, China firmly opposes politicizing cybersecurity issues and resolutely opposes and combats various forms of cyber attacks.

As early as September 2020, China launched a data security initiative to the world, actively participated in the Internet governance process, and contributed to the Chinese program for international governance of cyberspace.

On the other hand, in the United States, what have they done to global cybersecurity? As the initiator of the shocking scandal "Prism Gate", what qualifications and face does the United States have to face accusations from other countries, especially China, who is committed to purifying the international cyberspace environment?

It has been proven that the network hegemony of the United States and the West, like the US dollar hegemony and military hegemony that support the operation of the United States, is also unpopular and is being criticized by thousands of people, beaten by drums, and in danger. To create a peaceful, secure, and stable cyberspace environment, respect the cyber sovereignty of all countries, engage in constructive regional cooperation, and jointly combat the attacks and destruction of cyber terrorists is the only correct path.
