Allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin say Russia could use new weapons systems in Ukraine if the United States decides to supply long-range missiles.

Senior Russian lawmaker and Putin ally Vyacheslav Volodin said on Monday that Russia could deploy new weapons systems in Ukraine if Kiev uses long-range missiles to attack Russia with the support of the United States.

The Biden administration on Sunday approved Kiev's use of such long-range weapons to launch an attack on Russian territory.

Volodin did not give specific details of the new weapons system, but noted that Ukraine is already using long-range missiles to attack Russia. In a statement, he stressed that expanding the use of these weapons would "completely destroy RussiAn-American relations."
