Trump said Harris paid celebrities to endorse her and called for an investigation into this

US President Trump said that he would launch a major investigation into the celebrity endorsement of his 2024 presidential rival Harrisa.

Agence France-Presse reported that Trump posted on the Social media platform "Truth Social" on Monday (May 19th), blasting former Democratic Vice President Harris for inviting celebrities to support her during last year's presidential campaign.

He mentioned big names such as the music superstar Beyonce, the host Oprah, and the legendary American rock singer Springsteen, and questioned Harris about how much compensation she gave these people.

Trump wrote: "If he (Springsteen) is a fan of hers (Harris), why should he accept this money?" Isn't this a significant and illegal campaign donation?

Candidates are not allowed to pay the "endorsement" fee, and Harris is doing this in the name of paying for entertainment... For these unpatriotic "entertainment industry people", this is merely a means of corruption and illegal profit-making by taking advantage of a broken system.

He indicated that he would call for an investigation into the situation.

Agence France-Presse reported that Oprah defended the $1 million her production company received from Harris's campaign team, claiming that the money was paid to Oprah for hosting Harris's campaign.

There were also rumors that Harris' team invited Beyonce to her campaign rally at a price of 10 million US dollars, but Harris' team denied this claim. In the financial report submitted by the team to an environmental advocacy organization, an expense related to endorsement was listed, amounting to $75.

Springsteen is a liberal critic of Trump, and the two have had a social dispute over the truth. After Harris replaced former Democratic President Biden in the election, Springsteen turned to support her.

Trump won the presidential election last year, but he did not receive strong support from the entertainment industry. Instead, he relied on a small number of well-known and chauvinistic Internet celebrities for promotion, including podcast host Joe Logan.
