The new British Prime Minister, Burnham, formed a new cabinet on his first day in office. The former defense minister, Hilli, was appointed as the finance minister.

The BBC reported that on Monday (July 20th), the British Prime Minister's Office released a statement saying that among the new cabinet members, former Defense Minister John Healey was appointed as the Finance Minister. Previously, he resigned from his position as Prime Minister due to dissatisfaction with the funding plan for the defense investment program.

When Hilli, as the finance minister, gave his first media interview, he stated that he and Burnham would "work together to abide by the fiscal rules".

Wes Streeting, who served as the health minister in the previous government, took over as the defense minister. Streeting had expressed his intention to run for the leadership of the ruling Labor Party, but ultimately decided not to do so and instead supported Bernham.

In terms of other key cabinet positions, Shabana Mahmood remained as the Minister of the Interior, Ed Miliband took over as the Minister of Energy, Yvette Cooper became the Minister of Health, and Jonathan Reynolds held the position of Minister of Trade, Innovation and Science.

Xinhua News Agency reported that Bernham delivered a speech earlier at 10 Downing Street, the prime minister's residence, saying that he would promote "the most significant transformation in 40 years", establishing "a new political model and a new economic model". He believes that the new government will enhance cross-party and local cooperation and delegate more power from the central government to local areas.

Stammer resigned as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on Monday. Subsequently, the new leader of the Labour Party, Burnham, accepted the authorization from King Charles III at Buckingham Palace to form a new government and officially took office as the Prime Minister.
