The US Central Command launched a new round of strikes against Iran on Monday (July 20th) at 4 p.m. Eastern Time, aiming to "further weaken Iran's military capabilities to attack merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz".
This is the 10th consecutive day that the US military has launched military strikes against Iran since July 11th.
Earlier that day, US President Trump posted a message on social media, vowing to exact revenge for every fallen US soldier and demanding that Iran "pay double the price".
As of now, the US military has confirmed that 17 of its personnel have died in the war in Iran. The Pentagon said on Monday that since July 7th, nearly 100 US soldiers have been injured, and most of them suffered from minor concussions.
The US Central Command confirmed on the 18th that two US military personnel were killed in Jordan on the 17th after being attacked by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones. Another person was also reported missing. On the 19th, the US military announced that one of their personnel died on the 18th when they detonated a downed Iranian drone in northern Iraq.
