The US military has launched air strikes against Iran for the ninth consecutive night

The US Central Command issued a statement saying that the US military launched a new round of air strikes against Iran at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday .

The statement said that this was the ninth consecutive night that the US military had launched military operations against Iran, aiming to further weaken Iran's ability to strike merchant ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Xinhua News Agency quoted reports from Iranian media stating that explosions were heard in multiple locations across Iran on the 20th. Explosions were repeatedly heard in the southwestern port of Mahshahr, the port of Khomeini, and the southern port city of Shirik. The air defense system in the southeastern port of Konarak has been activated.

According to the Iranian News Television, the US military launched an attack on the city of Tabriz in the northwest of Iran.

Earlier that day, the US Central Command stated on social media that the US Navy has been continuously conducting maritime blockades against Iran. As of the 19th, the US military had caused six merchant ships to change their course and disabled the navigation capability of one merchant ship.
