AFP reported that the measure announced by the US government on Thursday (July 16) could be implemented as early as September. Foreigners holding student visas will be allowed to stay in the US for no more than four years.
The stay period for foreign journalists is set at 240 days, approximately eight months. However, they can apply for an extension of 240 days each time. In contrast, the extension period for Chinese journalists is only 90 days.
