The Louvre Museum in Paris, France, issued a notice stating that due to the arrival of a new round of hot weather, the temperature in some areas of the museum has risen, which has affected visitors' ability to visit. Therefore, the museum will close early from July 10th to 13th.
The Louvre Museum issued a notice on Thursday (July 9th) stating that the closing time will be shortened from the previous 6 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the last admission time for visitors will also be advanced to 2 p.m. Additionally, the National Eugène Delacroix Museum, which is affiliated with the Louvre, will also follow the same schedule.
Xinhua News Agency quoted the announcement as saying that recently, the museum has been exposed to intense heat and sunlight. Some areas within the 73,000-square-meter exhibition space have experienced a rise in temperature, making it impossible to ensure the comfort of visitors and staff. Especially during the crowded afternoon hours, the accumulation of heat is most pronounced.
The Louvre closed its doors earlier than usual from June 24th to 27th due to the hot weather, and the closing time was set at 4 p.m.
According to French media reports, the current heatwave in France is expected to last until at least July 14th. Currently, the Louvre team is closely monitoring the temperature and adjusting the opening hours of the exhibition halls according to the actual situation.
