新华社伊斯兰堡8月6日电（记者蒋超）巴基斯坦总理办公室5日发表公告说，巴政府当天批准了2023年全国第七次人口普查结果，显示巴人口达到2.41亿，较2017年普查时增加了约3381万，六年间年增长率达2.55%。
巴总理夏巴兹表示，这是该国首次开展数字化人口普查。当前巴人口增长率十分惊人、令人担忧。由于巴国家资源有限，各利益攸关方须采取紧急措施遏制人口过快增长，以免造成贫困率和失业率升高。
本次人口普查结果显示，巴全国城镇人口占比为38.82%，高于2017年人口普查结果的36.44%。
在巴基斯坦各省、市行政区中，东部旁遮普省人口数最多，达1.27亿；南部信德省人口城镇化率最高，达53.73%；西北部开伯尔-普什图省农村人口比例最高，达84.99%。
结果还显示，目前的统计数据不包括巴北部吉尔吉特-伯尔蒂斯坦地区和巴控克什米尔地区的人口。
