彭博社报道，印尼总统佐科星期四（7月18日）任命托马斯（Thomas Djiwandono）为副财长。托马斯当天接受采访时表明，他将确保普拉博沃的财政计划符合佐科的经济政策。“我是现任总统和当选总统在财政政策方面的桥梁。”
托马斯也说，普拉博沃阵营坚定认为，政策财政必须遵循法律限制。
普拉博沃是印尼现任国防部长，今年3月当选新任总统，将于10月正式从佐科手中接过领导棒子。
报道指，投资者一直对普拉博沃财政立场的矛盾信号保持警惕。他曾表明，印尼有能力在支出方面更加大胆；他的顾问则说，新政府可能会允许债务率上升至国内生产总值（GDP）的50%。
