TikTok的母公司字节跳动计划在人工智能投资100亿令吉，将马来西亚打造成本区域人工智能中心。
综合路透社和南洋商报报道，投资、贸易及工业部长扎夫鲁在X平台上说，他星期五（6月7日）在新加坡与TikTok全球副总裁勒许会面时，后者告知此事。
目前TikTok通过字节跳动系统在柔佛古来士年纳高科技工业园建立数据中心。扎夫鲁说，考虑到未来的需求，字节跳动打算额外投资15亿令吉，以扩大其数据中心设施。
扎夫鲁在X上说：“字节跳动的这项额外投资无疑将助马来西亚实现目标，即到2025年，数字经济增长占马来西亚国内生产总值22.6%。”
字节跳动的投资是众多科技公司进军东南亚的最新举措之一。近几个月来，其他科技巨头也宣布了类似的投资计划。
上个月，谷歌称计划投资20亿美元（27亿新元）在马来西亚开发其首个数据中心和谷歌云区域，微软说将投资22亿美元扩展云和人工智能服务。
