土耳其将把从中国进口的所有汽车的关税提高40％，以遏制进口并缩小经常账户赤字。
路透社报道，土耳其贸易部说：“将对从中国进口的传统和混合动力乘用车征收额外关税，以增加和保护不断下降的国内生产份额。”贸易部声明说，额外关税也是为降低经常账户赤字和鼓励国内投资和生产。
根据官方公报上发布的总统决定，加征的关税将至少为每辆车7000美元（约9466新元）。如果从进口汽车价格计算出的40％关税低于7000美元，则将征收7000美元的最低关税。该决定将从7月7日生效。
彭博社报道，土耳其曾在2023年提高对中国电动汽车征收的关税，以支持该国首款国产电动车。
土耳其政府正在采取措施应对通货膨胀，其中包括维持从紧的货币政策、加强财政状况和缩小经常账户赤字。去年赤字为452亿美元。5月底，通胀率达75.5％左右。
