印度总理莫迪抵达俄罗斯进行访问，这是俄乌战争爆发后，莫迪首次访俄。
法新社报道，莫迪星期一（7月8日）飞抵莫斯科，开启自2019年以来的首次访俄行程。这也是他6月开始第三个总理任期后的首次出访。
莫迪在一份声明中说：“我期待与我的朋友普京总统回顾双边合作的各个方面，并就各种地区和全球问题交流看法。”
他也表明：“我们寻求为一个和平稳定的地区发挥支持作用。”
报道指出，俄罗斯目前仍然是印度廉价石油和武器的主要供应国，但莫斯科与西方的隔绝，以及与北京的友好关系，都影响了它与新德里之间悠久的伙伴关系。
与此同时，西方大国近年来在培养与印度的关系，以抗衡中国及其在亚太地区日益增长的影响力，同时迫使印度与俄罗斯保持距离。
莫迪上一次访俄是在2019年。2022年俄罗斯对乌克兰发动全面军事行动几周之前，莫迪在新德里接待了到访的普京。
印度官媒星期一下午证实，莫迪抵达俄罗斯进行正式访问。
战争期间，印度一直避免明确谴责俄罗斯，并对联合国谴责莫斯科的决议投了弃权票。
