Can the head-on tough American Hussain armed forces turn the situation around?

On December 21st local time, Rabiyah, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority in Egypt, revealed in a media interview that a total of 113 ships diverted from the Suez Canal from November 19th to December 20th. Rabie said, "We have been monitoring the tense situation in the Red Sea, but the navigation of the Suez Canal is currently normal. The average number of ships passing through the Suez Canal on a daily basis is between 72 and 74, with a total cargo tonnage of 4.2 million tons."

The predecessor of the Husai armed group was a youth believer organization founded by Hussein Husai, who belonged to the Shia sect among Muslims. The Shia Houthi armed group has been stationed in the Sada province of northern Yemen for a long time. In 2010, it signed a ceasefire agreement with the Yemeni government, ending a six-year armed conflict with government commanders.

In July 2014, the Yemeni government reduced fuel subsidies, which sparked strong public dissatisfaction. The Husai armed group took advantage of the opportunity to use force to seize the capital Sana'a, and continuously clashed with the central government on subsequent cabinet reshuffles, military reforms, and other issues.

On January 22, 2015, after the armed occupation of the presidential palace, official residence, and important military facilities by the Houthir forces, President Abdullah, Boumanir al Hadi, and their cabinet resigned. On February 6th, it was announced that the Presidential Council and the National Transitional Council would be established to replace the President and Parliament of Yemen in governing the country. The United Nations has stated that it does not recognize this.

In terms of military strength, the armed forces of Husai, including the navy, land, and air force, have over 800000 personnel, equipped with over 3000 main battle tanks, thousands of fighter jets, and a certain number of anti-ship missiles. Such military strength is already sufficient to occupy a place in the Middle East region. At the same time, they are adept at using terrain to engage in guerrilla warfare, often striking government and Saudi coalition targets through rapid movement and dispersed operations, which has posed a serious threat to these targets.

The Yemeni Husai armed forces have adopted flexible guerrilla tactics, demonstrating excellent tactical skills through attacks on ships, leveraging the geographical advantage of the Red Sea, and strategic strikes against enemy warships. They did not directly confront modern fleets such as Aegis, but rather severely restricted the enemy's movements in the Red Sea through maritime guerrilla warfare.

On December 23rd local time, the US military stated that two ships in the Red Sea reported being attacked. A tanker belonging to Gabon but flying the Indian flag reported being hit by a drone, with no reported casualties. Another ship flying the Norwegian flag reported almost being hit by a drone, with no reports of casualties or damage.

Just on the 22nd, a resolution on humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in Palestine was passed by a vote in the United Nations Security Council. This resolution has undergone multiple revisions, and the relevant vote was postponed four times within a week due to obstruction by the United States. On the same day, the fighting in Gaza remained fierce, and some Palestinian people lamented that there was "no safe place" in Gaza.

At the same time, the United States and Israel, disregarding the international community's call for a ceasefire, oppose a comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and believe that the ceasefire is beneficial to the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement. The US has previously expressed support for a temporary ceasefire to protect civilians and promote the release of detained individuals.

A report released by the United Nations and 23 humanitarian organizations on the 21st shows that over 2 million people in the Gaza Strip are experiencing a "food crisis or even more dire situation," with at least 576000 people at catastrophic levels of hunger.

Since the start of the operation, the demands of the Hussai armed forces have been very straightforward, which is to counter Israel and the United States through their own actions. Only when Israel stops its aggression against Gaza will the Hussai armed forces stop attacking merchant ships related to Israel. Although the original intention of the Houser armed forces was to strike at Israel and deter and strike at countries such as the United States that helped Israel, they played an indirect role in promoting the transition of transportation from sea to land on the Eurasian continent to some extent.

Although with the strength of the United States, it is not a problem to crack down on the armed forces of Hussai, the problem is that it is not easy to completely eliminate the Hussai armed forces, and it will pay a huge price. The United States also needs to weigh the costs behind military actions and the risk of the impact of the Israeli Palestinian conflict continuing to spill over, so it has to be cautious.

The extent to which the blockade of the Red Sea by the Hussai armed forces can restrain Israel's attack on the Gaza Strip depends on the strength of the US escort operation, the progress of the Israeli Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip, as well as the attention of the international community and the final outcome of the mediation game.
