日本央行星期五（6月14日）在货币政策会议结束后宣布，将政策利率目标维持在0到0.1%之间不变。央行同时表示，未来将减少国债购买，并在7月决定具体的减少购债计划。
新华社报道，日本央行星期五在公告中指出，目前继续执行3月确定的长期国债购买方针。其后，为使金融市场的长期利率形成机制更加自由化，央行将减少国债购买，并在7月举行的货币政策会议上决定未来一到两年间具体的减少购债计划。
日本央行行长植田和男当天在记者会上说：“国债购买不会只减少一点点，会有相应的规模。”
会前，市场普遍预计央行将在一定程度上减少购债。但由于央行当天暂未推出具体计划，公告发布后东京外汇市场日元对美元汇率一度跌至约158日元兑1美元水平。
日本央行3月宣布，将政策利率从负0.1%提高到0至0.1%范围内，同时决定结束收益率曲线控制政策，并承诺将继续通过购买国债等手段保持宽松货币环境。
