路透社报道，伊朗外交部长阿卜杜拉希扬星期一（10月16日）接受国家电视台访问时说：“抵抗运动的领导人决不允许犹太复国主义政权在加沙地带采取任何行动……所有选项都在桌上，我们不能对加沙人民遭遇战争罪行坐视不理。”
阿卜杜拉希扬还说：“抵抗阵线有能力向敌人（以色列）发动长期战争……在接下来几个小时内，我们可以预期抵抗阵线将采取先发制人行动。”他并没有作进一步说明。
伊朗最高领导人哈梅内伊上周说，德黑兰并没有参与巴勒斯坦激进组织哈马斯10月7日向以色列发动的突袭，但他对以色列在军事和情报方面遭到“不可挽回”的重挫表示欢迎。
