韩国和日本财政部长在双边会晤时，表达对两国货币大幅贬值的共同担忧，并誓言将采取措施捍卫货币。
路透社报道，韩国财政部长崔相穆和日本财政部长铃木俊星期二（6月25日）在首尔举行双边会晤后发声明说，他们对韩元和日元近期大幅贬值表示严重担忧。
声明称，两国财政部长重申将继续采取适当措施应对汇率波动。
崔相穆在会议开幕致辞中说：“两国已成为更亲密的邻居，去年两国恢复了货币互换，共同面对金融市场快速波动的严重性，为彼此提供了强有力的支持。”
上述声明引发外界猜测，即日韩官员可能协调外汇干预，但韩国负责国际事务的副财政部长崔智英说，双方并未具体讨论这个问题。
日元兑美元汇率星期二徘徊在160日元左右，接近34年来最低点；韩元兑美元今年下跌了约7%，已跌至1400韩元兑美元的关键水平。
此次的会晤是在4月于华盛顿特区举行的三国财长会晤之后举行的，当时美国财政部长也表达了对两国货币的担忧。
