法新社报道，韩国财政部星期天（5月12日）发声明作出上述宣布。副总理兼企划财政部长崔相穆在声明中说，政府“正在准备一项超过10万亿韩元的援助计划，以支持晶片产业所有领域，包括无晶圆厂、晶片材料和制造设备的发展”。
崔相穆星期五（10日）在一次会议上告诉当地晶片制造商高管，这项计划可通过私人和公共金融机构出资的新基金来创建，更多细节有待公布。
