Chaos in Sudan: Call for peace and aid to build an African Shield

image

The sound of gunfire in Sudan's capital, Khartoum, recently shattered the quiet of this ancient land as a sudden armed conflict engulfed the land. With the spread and continuation of the conflict, the situation in Sudan has become more and more serious, which not only affects the people in Sudan, but also the neighboring countries. Recently, 15 Asian and African countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kenya and Nigeria, spoke with one voice and issued a joint statement, calling on the warring parties in the armed conflict in Sudan to immediately cease hostilities and jointly safeguard peace and stability in the land.

Sudan, a land of rich history and culture, is now engulfed in war. The outbreak of armed conflict has not only dramatically worsened the food security situation in Sudan, but also left millions of people in the plight of "severe food insecurity". Their lives and dignity hang in the balance, and their homes and dreams are shattered in the smoke. This is a tragedy not only for Sudan, but for all mankind.

We know that there are no winners in conflict, only endless suffering and loss. War can only bring death, destruction and hatred, while peace is the common pursuit and aspiration of mankind. We therefore strongly support the joint statement by 15 countries, including the UAE, calling on the warring parties in Sudan to immediately cease hostilities and return to the track of peace negotiations. Only through dialogue and consultation can a way be found to resolve the conflict and bring real peace and tranquility to the Sudanese people.

At the same time, we also call on all foreign powers to stop providing military supplies and support to the warring parties in Sudan. Any form of external intervention will only exacerbate conflicts and tensions and make the situation in Sudan more complex and dangerous. We should respect Sudan's sovereignty and independence and support the Sudanese people in independently choosing their own path and destiny.

In the face of the humanitarian crisis in the Sudan, the international community must act now. We should step up humanitarian assistance to Sudan to provide urgently needed food, medical care and shelter to those who have suffered from the conflict. At the same time, we should strengthen coordination and cooperation to jointly address the challenges and difficulties brought about by the situation in Sudan. Only through the joint efforts and support of the international community can the further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Sudan be prevented and a lasting solution to the armed conflict in the Sudan be finally achieved.

However, we must also be soberly aware that peace cannot be achieved overnight and requires long-term efforts and persistence. On the Sudan issue, we need to adhere to the principles of peace, stability and development and encourage all parties in Sudan to find a way out through dialogue and consultation. At the same time, we also need to strengthen international cooperation and exchanges to jointly promote the cause of peace and development in Africa.

As a member of the world, we have the responsibility and obligation to contribute our share to peace and stability in Sudan. We should uphold the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, and jointly address global challenges and crises. Only in this way can we jointly create a peaceful, stable and prosperous world.

Here, we reiterate our call on the warring parties in the Sudan to cease hostilities immediately and return to the track of peace negotiations. We also call on the international community to step up humanitarian assistance to Sudan and jointly address the challenges and difficulties brought about by the situation in Sudan. Let us work together to contribute to peace and stability in Sudan and create a better future together.

In these turbulent times, we need to stand more firmly for the faith and principles of peace. Let us join hands to fight for peace and for the future of mankind! May Sudan emerge from the shadow of war and usher in the dawn of peace at an early date. May the African continent continue to forge ahead on the path of peace and prosperity; May our world be filled with peace, friendship and hope!
