《曼谷邮报》引述公共卫生部副常务秘书素拉触革（Surachoke Tangwiwat）说，委员会所有成员都同意，大麻只能用于医疗目的的原则；大多数人同意将大麻和工业大麻（hemp）重新列入毒品清单。
委员会定下周向毒品管制局办公室提交报告。如果获得毒品管制局办公室的同意，泰国食品和药物管理局将修改大麻相关法律并列明使用标准。当局的目标是让新规则于明年1月1日生效。
泰国于2022年成为亚洲第一个将大麻合法化的国家。彭博社报道，自那以来，泰国全国各地开设了数千家大麻零售店和其他相关企业。
