由于印度尼西亚首都雅加达最近几周空气污染严重，雅加达附近的一家大型燃煤发电厂的运营者星期三（9月6日）说，过去一周他们削减产量近50%。
法新社报道，这家燃煤发电厂是在亚细安峰会及系列会议召开的一个星期前开始减产。亚细安峰会本周在雅加达举行，除亚细安国家领导人，美日中韩等国家领导人也将参与峰会的一系列会议。
苏拉亚燃煤发电厂（Suralaya）总经理伊尔万（Irwan Edi Syahputra Lubis）说：“自8月29日起，印尼电力公司（PLN IP）就把我们的发电量减少1600兆瓦……这是为了改善雅加达的空气质量。”
苏拉亚燃煤发电厂位于印尼人口最多的爪哇岛西端，距雅加达市中心约100公里。苏拉亚发电厂目前的发电量为1800兆瓦。
伊尔万不愿透露减产措施会持续多久，或是不是永久措施。他说，公司将遵循政府的指示。
印尼政府承诺从2023年起停止建设新的燃煤发电厂，并在2050年实现碳中和。
第43届亚细安峰会9月5日至7日在雅加达召开，印尼是本年度亚细安峰会轮值主席国。
