韩国新增冠病确诊病例连续五周增加。防疫部门预测，8月中旬的日均新增病例可能达6万起，单日新增病例甚至可能高达7万6000起。
韩联社报道，韩国中央防疫对策本部星期三（8月2日）说，7月第四周（23日至30日）的新增确诊病例为31万3906起，较此前一周增加23.7%。
7月第四周的日均新增则达4万4844起，基本再生数为1.19，同样连续五周大于1，这意味着疫情正在扩散。
受学校放假等影响，10岁到19岁的群体日均感染率较前一周降低，但60岁以上确诊病例占比由前一周的26.7%升至29.8%，升幅较大。
韩国防疫部门称，今年的疫情有可能还会出现一到两次小高峰。当局说，自从解除隔离措施，出现症状但不检查的患者增多，加上夏季常开冷气通风不足、不严格遵守防护守则等，也是疫情反弹的重要原因。
