Civil Aviation Administration of China: Passenger transport in 2023 increased by 146.1% over the previous year

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), China's passenger transport volume in 2023 increased by 146.1% over the previous year, while 5,206 scheduled flight routes were established.

Civil aviation handled 619.5764 million passengers last year, up 146.1 percent from the previous year, according to the Statistics communique on the development of the Civil Aviation Industry in 2023 released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, CCTV News reported on Sunday.

By the end of 2023, China has 66 transport airlines, 5,206 scheduled flight routes, and 255 domestic cities (or regions) with regular flights (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). Chinese airlines operate regular international flights to 127 cities in 57 countries.

 

In addition, the industry's transport airlines completed 12.209 million flight hours and 4.9219 million transport flights, an increase of 94.5% and 91.8% over the previous year. The regular load factor was 77.9%, an increase of 11.3 percentage points over the previous year.
