为支持韩国实习医生和住院医生反对政府扩招的行动，首尔大学医院教授星期一（6月17日）起无期限停诊。
韩联社报道，首尔大学医学院及首尔大学医院紧急对策委员会（对策委）发布的调查结果显示，首尔大学医院、盆唐首尔大学医院、江南中心等教授中有529人决定将从17日起无期限停诊，占比54.7%。预计手术室的启动率将降至33.5%。包括这529人在内，共873名教授支持停诊，占参与诊疗教授总数的90.3%。
对策委17日上午在首尔医大举行集会，宣布无限期停诊，并于下午举行相关研讨会。对策委说，停诊期间重症和罕见疾病患者治疗照常进行，但预计诊疗规模将减少约40%。此外，大韩医师协会也已宣布将于18日停诊。
韩国政府方面从即日起实行“重症应急疾病轮流值班制”，以确保患者可以在黄金时间接受治疗。政府还要求首都圈、忠清道、全罗道、庆尚道四个地区的医疗机构制定排班计划，确保各区每天至少有一家机构负责夜间和公休日的急诊救治工作，并设立患者举报电话“129”。
韩国政府要求各大学医院院长，研究教授停诊给医院造成损失的赔偿问题，并考虑将不予应对的医院从健康保险预付款支付名单中剔除等方案。
