区域汽车制造中心泰国将为混合动力车制造商提供投资激励措施，混合动力汽车的消费税将在2028年至2032年之间降低。
泰国投资促进会（BOI）秘书长纳利特（Narit Therdsteerasukdi）星期五（7月26日）在谈到混合动力车型时说：“这是向电动车过渡的一项重要技术……泰国有能力成为混合动力汽车的主要生产国。”
他补充道，这些措施预计将吸引价值500亿泰铢的投资。
路透社报道，几十年来，泰国一直是汽车生产的区域中心，也是丰田和本田等一些世界顶级汽车制造商的出口基地。
比亚迪和长城汽车等中国电动车制造商最近的投资震撼了整个行业，泰国一直积极提供激励措施以吸引更多企业。
泰国投资促进会说，对于未来四年投资至少30亿泰铢并使用本地零部件的混合动力车制造商，税率将在五年内降低。此外，车辆还得配备先进的驾驶辅助系统才能符合条件。
纳利特说，目前有七家汽车制造商正在享受泰国投资促进会提供的激励措施，其中四家来自日本，三家来自中国。
