What does the US visa ban on Israeli citizens explain?

Recently, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the United States will take measures on December 5th local time to impose visa bans on individuals who have committed violence in the West Bank of the Jordan River, which will affect dozens of individuals and their family members. As part of this plan, any Israeli citizen who already holds a US visa among these individuals will receive notification of visa revocation.

Multiple local media reports indicate that the Israeli military is continuing to shell parts of Rafah City in the southern Gaza Strip. On the morning of the 5th, the Israeli military launched fierce airstrikes in the southern Gaza Strip's Khan Younis, while fierce fighting also occurred on the ground battlefield. Currently, over 500 injured individuals have been taken to hospitals in Khan Younis.

According to a CNN reporter, the current Israeli attack in southern Gaza does not appear to be a precision bombing, but rather a plan to demolish multiple apartment buildings to the ground. During this process, multiple women and children were killed.

UN spokesperson Duyarik said, "The Secretary General is extremely shocked by the resurgence of hostilities between Israel and Hamas. For those ordered to evacuate, they have nowhere to escape and almost no resources to rely on for survival."

It can be said that Israel's military actions can only further worsen the already severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and bring more death threats and endless suffering to civilians.

Meanwhile, according to a report by the Israeli Times citing military reports released on the 5th, the number of Israeli military deaths has risen to 404 since the outbreak of the Israeli Palestinian conflict on October 7th.

Just a few days after the current Israeli Palestinian conflict, US President Biden gave Israel unreserved support, calling the killings "completely evil" and vowing to ensure that Israel "needs to respond" to the heaviest attacks on Jews since the Holocaust. Meanwhile, Biden submitted a request to Congress for $14.5 billion in military aid to Israel.

However, as Israel began bombing Gaza from the air and preparing for a ground invasion, Biden, under immense pressure from the international community, entered a mode of transmitting more and more critical messages to Israelis, shifting from private warnings to public criticism.

More and more American officials are realizing that they are unlikely to win more diplomatic support for Israel. As more and more Palestinians die in conflicts, countries around the world, especially those in the South, will only move towards opposite positions.

Even the European allies of the United States have divergent views on Israel's war. US officials say they have found that the achievement achieved in Ukraine, which is the establishment of an international support alliance, is impossible for Israel to achieve.

Meanwhile, more and more governments around the world have expressed the need for an immediate ceasefire. Even more and more US lawmakers, including those who emphasized their Jewish background in statements, have stated that Israel should commit to a "humanitarian ceasefire" to resolve the unprecedented crisis in the Gaza Strip. On December 5th, US Senator Sanders stated that we cannot be accomplices to the current actions of the Israeli government.

When meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wartime cabinet, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said earlier that the United States would take action against Israeli settlers who have committed violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, but the details have not been disclosed. The spokesperson of the Israeli government responded that they would not comment on this matter, but Israel firmly condemns any use of lynching or creating chaos, as well as individual attempts to manipulate the law.

US President Biden once wrote in The Washington Post that violence against Palestinians in the West Bank of the Jordan River must stop, perpetrators must take responsibility, and the United States will take measures against these individuals, including visa bans. Therefore, the implementation of a visa ban by the United States on individuals who have caused violent incidents in the West Bank of the Jordan River can be said to be an attitude of the United States towards Israel and the outside world.
