New poll: Harris and Trump neck-and-neck in swing state

The latest polls show that Democratic presidential candidate Harris is currently leading narrowly in Nevada, North Carolina and Wisconsin, while Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is leading in Arizona.

In addition to those four swing states, Harris and Trump are tied in a tight race in Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania, according to a new poll released Sunday by The New York Times and Siena College.

The poll results in all seven states are within the margin of sampling error, meaning neither candidate has a commanding lead in any state.

Harris has held a four-point lead in Pennsylvania polls since she entered the race, but Trump's support has been rising and the two sides are now neck-and-neck. The race in Pennsylvania is tightening and could affect the outcome.

According to the poll, about 40% of those surveyed have already voted, and Harris has won the support of those voters by an eight-point margin. Mr. Trump has an advantage among those who say they are very likely to vote but have not yet done so.

There are also signs that many swing voters are backing Harris. Among the 8 percent of voters who only recently decided to vote, Harris won that group 55 percent to 44 percent.

Polls also show a shift in voters' priorities in the final stages of the campaign. The economy remains their top concern, but in Wisconsin and other states where Harris has held the edge, abortion is almost as important as the economy.

As for Arizona, where Trump is leading, immigration also continues to be a key issue shaping how voters cast their ballots.
