The White House: Trump has been diagnosed with benign venous disease

The White House of the United States said that President Trump recently experienced swelling on his calf and bruising on his right hand. He was diagnosed with a benign venous disease.

Reuters reported that White House Press Secretary Levitt read out Dr. Trump's letter at a press conference on Thursday (July 17), saying that both symptoms are benign.

Levitt said that an ultrasound examination of Trump's leg showed that he suffered from chronic venous insufficiency. She said that this is a common disease and is more prevalent among people over 70 years old.

Levitt also said that the bruising on Trump's hand was caused by shaking hands too much. She said that the doctor had found no signs of serious diseases such as heart failure and kidney dysfunction.

Previously, photos taken by the media showed that Trump had swollen ankles and had applied cosmetics to cover the affected areas on his hands.

Levitt told reporters that Trump was not feeling unwell because of his illness.

After Levitt's briefing, the White House released letters from Dr. Trump and US Navy officer Bababella. The letter pointed out that Trump has undergone a series of examinations regarding problems in his legs and hands, and stated that Trump's health condition remains very good.

Trump is 79 years old now. Last week, when he was watching the FIFA Club World Cup final live in New York, photos showed that his ankle was obviously swollen, which sparked speculation about his health condition.
