Rome - As global media explore how to apply AI technology, Italy has published the world's first newspaper generated by artificial intelligence.

The British "Guardian" reported that the Italian newspaper "Il Foglio" on Tuesday (March 18), a total of four pages of AI fully generated newspaper "Folin AI". The headline of the newspaper on the day was "Because only AI can be optimistic, without defects, without contradictions", explaining the significance of using AI and the birth of AI newspapers.

The front page also featured a story about US President Donald Trump that explored "the paradox of Italian Trumps," noting that while they railed against "cancel culture," they ignored and even celebrated their "American idol (Trump) acting like a dictator in a banana republic." Banana republic is a derogatory term for a country that is politically and economically unstable.

The front page also carried a column titled "10 Betrayals of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin," which listed two decades of broken promises, broken agreements and broken pledges.

In a rare piece of optimism about the Italian economy, it cited the latest report on income redistribution from the Italian National statistics office.

On the back page of the newspaper was an AI-generated letter from a reader asking whether AI would make humans "useless" in the future. The AI-generated response wrote that AI is a great innovation, but it is still impossible to accurately order a cup of coffee that does not have the wrong sugar.

The essays were clearly structured, with no obvious grammatical errors, but none quoted anyone.

Folha editor-in-chief Cherasa said that this is part of a month-long journalism experiment aimed at showing the full scope of AI technology's impact on working styles and daily life; The newspaper, from the writing, headlines, introduction to the satire in the article, is done by the AI alone, and the role of the reporter is limited to "asking the AI questions and reading the answers."
