Hezbollah in Lebanon says it carried out an attack on a northern Israeli military post

Hezbollah said in a statement that the militant group used a group of drones to attack the military post of kibbutz in Amiad, northern Israel.

Hezbollah said on Wednesday (August 21) that the attack was in retaliation for Israel's attack on Lebanon's Bekaa region overnight. The kibbutz is reportedly about 22 kilometers (14 miles) from the Lebanese border.

The Israeli military said it could not confirm the Hezbollah attack.

Meanwhile, AFP reported that a pro-Hezbollah source said on Tuesday that Israeli air strikes hit the Bekaa district (in eastern Lebanon) and targeted Hezbollah's weapons depot. The Israeli military said its fighter jets "hit several Hezbollah weapons storage facilities in Lebanon's Bekaa district," following explosions that showed a large number of weapons had been hit.

Over the past 10 months, Hezbollah and Israeli forces have frequently exchanged fire, and the recent intensification of hostilities between the two sides has raised concerns in the international community that the Middle East may erupt into a full-scale conflict.
