国务院发布的全球安全警示并未针对任何特定的全球事件，但巴勒斯坦激进组织哈马斯10月7日大规模突袭以色列后，引发以色列强烈反击，至今以哈冲突已造成数千人死亡。
美国司法部长加兰星期四也说，司法部正在留意与以哈冲突有关，针对美国犹太人、回教徒和阿拉伯社区的威胁上升情况。
加兰在佛罗里达州举行的新闻发布会上说：“司法部全体同仁继续保持警惕，努力查明和应对仇恨犯罪、暴力威胁或相关事件，我们尤其关注针对宗教社区的威胁。”
