其中，租房网站Zillow、Apartments.com和AffordableHousing.com将推出新的网站功能，向潜在租户展示申请租住特定公寓的费用。白宫认为此举对美国紧张的租房市场意义重大。
拜登政府寻求通过监管、法律提案，以及公开游说公司改变政策等多种方式来增加市场竞争，降低日常生活成本。他们期望让选民免受所谓垃圾费用和其他月度财政开销的影响，扭转对经济治理效果的不满。
不过，选民总体上对拜登处理经济问题的方式并不满意。自拜登2021年上任以来，在各种民调中，约三分之二的选民对他信心不足或几乎没有信心，即使在失业率降至3.6%、通胀近期有所降温的情况下，这一数字仍持续处于高位。
