（雅加达路透电）印度尼西亚足总会长星期三（10月11日）说，印尼正与澳大利亚就联合申办2034年世界杯事宜进行讨论，他们也有意和邻国马来西亚以及新加坡共同举办这项四年一度的足球大赛。
国际足联（FIFA）上周邀请亚洲和大洋洲的成员协会竞标2034年世界杯的举办权。
澳洲媒体《悉尼先驱晨报》引述印尼足总（PSSI）会长艾瑞克·托希尔（Erick Thohir）的访问说：“我们正在与澳洲讨论。当我访问马来西亚和新加坡时，这两个国家都表示有兴趣加入印尼和澳洲的申办行列。”
当被问及可能的联合申办发表评论时，澳洲足协告诉路透社，说自己正在“探讨申办2029年世俱杯（FIFA Club World Cup）和2034年世界杯的可能性”。

加拿大、墨西哥、美国三国将联合主办2026年世界杯，届时将有48支球队参赛。
