Supporters of US President Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the way Attorney General Bundy handled the Epstein sexual assault case. Trump spoke up for her, advising his supporters not to be too obsessed with the case.
Reuters reported that Trump posted a long article on social media on Saturday (July 12), attempting to unite his supporters. He said, "No one cares" about Epstein and no more time or energy should be wasted on his case.
Trump wrote: "My brothers, and some sisters, what's wrong with you all?" Everyone is hunting down Attorney General Bundy, but she has done an excellent job!"
He also said, "We are a team, MAGA (Make America Great Again), and I don't like what's happening."
The wealthy businessman Epstein was arrested in 2019 on suspicion of trafficking and sexually assaulting underage girls. He later died in a detention center in New York, and there have always been various speculations about his death from the outside world.
Trump and some senior law enforcement officials had promised to release a "client list" to expose the truth behind Epstein's crimes and his death. Some people believe that this list will indicate that Epstein blackmailed well-known elites, and Epstein might have been killed with the aim of silking him.
The US Department of Justice indicated earlier this year that it had declassified files related to Epstein, including his personal contact list and contact list.
However, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice released a joint memo on Monday (7th), claiming that there is no evidence to support the long-standing conspiracy theories about Epstein's death and the so-called "client list".
The memo stated that after reviewing over 300 GB of data, there was no list of clients to be convicted, nor was there any evidence suggesting that Epstein might have blackmailed prominent figures.
The memo also confirmed the previous investigation results of the FBI, that is, Epstein died by suicide rather than from criminal acts such as murder.
Politico, a US political news website, reported that some of Trump's most influential Allies had accused Bundy of mishandle the Epstein investigation and called for her removal from the position of attorney general. These people include Laura Loomer, an extreme right-wing activist in the United States; Elon Musk, the tycoon who recently broke off relations with Trump, has also criticized the investigation results of Bundy and FBI Director Patel on the Epstein case.
Fox News and NBC and other US media reported that Dan Bangino, the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, had a conflict with Bundy over the Epstein issue and was considering resresignation.
Bungino is also a conservative. Patel and he had made statements regarding Epstein's "client list" and often hinted that the government was concealing information about the case from the American public.
Fox News asked Bundy in February this year whether the Department of Justice would release Epstein's "client list". She said at the time, "The list is now on my desk, waiting for review."
However, she retracted this statement at the White House on Tuesday (the 8th). She told reporters that what she was talking about at that time was the "archives" of the entire Epstein case, as well as other archives related to the assassination of former President Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King.
