针对台湾电影《周处除三害》在中国大陆卖座、大陆电视剧《繁花》在台引起追剧潮，大陆国台办称，这说明两岸同文同种，特别容易共情共鸣，希望两岸影视界加强合作。
中国大陆国台办发言人陈斌华星期三（3月13日）在例行记者会上回应相关提问时说，中国大陆一贯支持并积极推动两岸影视剧的交流合作，鼓励台湾影视业者到大陆发展。
他说，大陆之大是台湾很多艺人难以想象的，也是他们心向往之的。中国大陆希望两岸影视界进一步加强合作，创作更多两岸民众喜爱的影视作品，促进两岸影视产业的共同发展，做强做大中华民族的影视事业。
由香港导演黄精甫执导、台湾演员阮经天主演的《周处除三害》3月1日在中国大陆上映不到两周，便取得超过4亿元（人民币，约7400万新元）票房的成绩，从3月3日起连续10天拿下单日票房冠军，累计观影人次突破千万。
《周处除三害》去年10月在台湾上映，但票房平平，仅为4664万元（新台币，197万新元），在台湾本土华语片中位列年度第五。
第一财经网称，《周处除三害》让大陆观众看到台湾商业电影的另一面，除了爱情电影，在悬疑、惊悚、犯罪等类型上不断有新作产出，且题材大胆，富于创意。
