有消息指，美国前总统特朗普的“拯救美国”政治行动委员会，为特朗普和他的顾问等支付的律师费已超过4000万美元。面对如此庞大的开支，迫使这个委员会要求支持特朗普的另一组织归还6000万美元捐款。
《华盛顿邮报》引述知情人士的话称，特朗普的“拯救美国”政治行动委员会（Save America PAC）在律师费方面的支出，引起检察官对特朗普与证人之间是否存在潜在利益冲突的审查。
要求不具名的知情者说，拯救美国PAC预计将在星期一（7月31日）向法院提交的法律文件中报告，截止2023年上半年，拯救美国PAC为特朗普支付了4020万美元（约5353万新元）的律师费。
另据《纽约时报》报道，拯救美国PAC此前向另一支持特朗普竞选2024总统大选的组织提供了6000万美元捐款，现在拯救美国PAC要求该组织归还这笔钱。
特朗普竞选团队没有立即回应对报道的置评请求。
《纽约时报》引述两名匿名知情人士称，由于特朗普用拯救美国PAC的资金来支付自己的律师费，导致拯救美国PAC今年的开支惊人，还得要求一笔6000万美元捐款归还，这预示着特朗普可能面临金钱危机。
特朗普目前深陷多起诉讼，包括涉及违反间谍法等联邦刑事罪名的机密文件案、在2016年总统大选前向艳星丹尼尔斯支付封口费案等。美国媒体预计司法部特别检察官史密斯近日将公布2021年1月6日国会骚乱事件的调查结果，特朗普可能因试图推翻2020年总统大选结果而面临新的起诉。
