Trump and Harris set up a debate and Trump asked for two more

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who once refused to debate with Democratic presidential candidate Harris, finally agreed to a scheduled debate with Harris on ABC, and he even asked for three debates between the two.

On Thursday, ABC confirmed that Trump and Harris will debate on ABC on September 10. It will be the first time the two men face each other.

At a News conference earlier in the day at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Miami, Florida, Trump said that in addition to the Sept. 10 debate, he had agreed to two more debates on Sept. 4 and Sept. 25, which will be broadcast on Fox News and NBC. There will also be a vice presidential debate on CBS News.

Trump did not specify details of the debate schedule, such as whether there would be a live audience. The Trump campaign later clarified that Trump was confused about which network would host which debate.

Harris, who attended a campaign rally in Detroit on the same day, posted on the X platform that Trump had "finally agreed to deliver on his promises" and said he was looking forward to the debate on September 10.

Harris told reporters after a campaign stop in Detroit that she was open to discussing the possibility of more debates with Trump.

Mr. Trump's press conference at Mar-a-Lago lasted more than an hour as he sought to regain some of the limelight she had stolen from him in the face of a defiant Ms. Harris.

Harris officially entered the presidential campaign after U.S. President Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he would not run for re-election. Harris officially announced Minnesota Governor Walter Woltz as her running mate on August 6.
