美国财政部长耶伦和墨西哥财政部长德拉奥星期四（12月7日）在墨西哥市达成协议，加强在外国投资审查方面的合作。美国财政部发布声明称，两国将成立双边工作小组，定期举行会议交换信息。
彭博社报道，华盛顿近年来通过这种方式，向许多盟友施加压力，要求加强外商投资审查。虽然没有提到中国，但美国财政部说，工作小组将起到“有效投资审查机制的关键作用，应对某些外国投资可能产生的国家安全风险，特别是在特定技术、关键基础设施和敏感数据方面”。
耶伦还说，美国和墨西哥的金融支付系统有改善空间，包括两国可能的“互联互通”。美国和墨西哥团队星期四讨论了这一问题。耶伦到访期间还会见墨西哥总统洛佩斯，与墨西哥央行和主要商业银行负责人举行会谈。
