The UK has dispatched additional air defense forces to the Persian Gulf region

The British government stated that due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East, they will increase their air defense forces in the Persian Gulf region, including extending the deployment of "Typhoon" fighter jets in Qatar and deploying the "Sky Sword" air defense system to Saudi Arabia.

Xinhua News Agency reported that on Tuesday (March 31st), the British government issued a statement saying that British Defense Secretary Hickey recently visited Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain, and held talks with the leaders and defense officials of the three countries on issues such as the conflicts in the Middle East, the situation at the Strait of Hormuz, and the security cooperation between the UK and the Gulf countries.

The British side will deploy the "Sky Sword" air defense system to Saudi Arabia. The related equipment and operators will arrive this week, including radars, control nodes, missile launchers, etc.

The UK also announced that the lightweight multi-purpose launch system has arrived in Bahrain; the land-based anti-aircraft missile system "Quick Sentinel" has arrived in Kuwait, and the UK Air Force's unmanned aerial vehicle early warning and detection system has also been put into operation in Kuwait.

The statement said that since the outbreak of the war in Iran, the British troops have been conducting defensive operations in the Persian Gulf region to protect the interests of British citizens, military bases and allies.

The statement also noted that British Prime Minister Stammer explicitly stated that Britain "does not wish to be drawn into a wider war."
