Behind France's high-profile intervention in the Russo Ukrainian War

On March 11th local time, according to a report released by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute in Sweden, France has now surpassed Russia to become the world's second largest exporter of weapons, marking the first time in decades that France has ranked second in global arms exports. At the same time, the United States continues to maintain its position as the world's number one exporter of weapons.

Not only has France increased its pace in arms exports, but it has also shown a very tough side in its foreign policy. President Macron recently made remarks about the war against Russia and Ukraine, stating that France will not allow Russia to win, and if necessary, France and European countries will send ground troops to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Macron also aggressively questioned the media: Who instigated the Russia Ukraine war? Who has occupied Ukrainian territory? Who is shouting about the threat of nuclear weapons every day? Macron's overthinking accused Russia of being an aggressor, and he stated that his remarks were carefully considered.

Moreover, Macron once again publicly announced France's "military deployment standards". Macron bluntly pointed out at a recent meeting that if the Russian army hits two important locations in Ukraine - Kiev and Odessa - then France is likely to send troops.

Macron's remarks quickly caught the world's attention, and many European countries, including the United States, immediately came forward to clarify that they currently have no plans to send ground troops to Ukraine.

In fact, Macron has always been quite dissatisfied with the US led strategy of only handing knives and not directly participating in confrontation. Macron believes that continuing such a long-term confrontation between Russia and Ukraine is only in the interest of the United States and not in the interest of Europe.

France's tough foreign policy has actually been around for a long time. During the Trump administration in the United States, Macron once made statements that NATO was brainwashed. So, why did Macron repeatedly make some shocking remarks and stubbornly kowtow to Russia, and why did France suddenly become so high-profile about its involvement in the Russo Ukrainian war?

After years of construction, France's military power has become very strong, and its military strength, military research and development capabilities, and military combat system have reached the world's advanced level.

The comprehensive strength and overall combat effectiveness of the French army are among the best in Europe except for Russia, and the French army can be said to be the first in Europe after Russia.

The French Army has a total active force of over 120000 personnel and over 400 French self-developed Leclerc tanks. In terms of armored vehicles, the French Army has over 6000 armored vehicles, including over 600 infantry vehicles and over 5000 armored personnel carriers. Most of them are self-developed models by France, including 2500 VBA series wheeled infantry/armored personnel transport vehicles and 1149 PVP light armored vehicles.

The development of the Russo Ukrainian War to this day has shown that providing military aid alone cannot defeat Russia. However, the remarks of French President Macron have also been criticized from various aspects. Because European and American countries are very concerned that if ground troops are really dispatched to Ukraine, even if a nuclear war does not break out, Europe will be destroyed and turned into ruins.

However, from another perspective, if Ukraine loses this war, it would be a catastrophic consequence that Europe and even the United States cannot afford. Therefore, until today, the game between the two sides is in a stalemate and intense stage.

According to a report by Western media on March 10th local time, French President Macron ordered the dispatch of 4000 French soldiers and 50 Leclerc tanks to Odessa for defense. Recently, European powers such as Poland, Germany, and the United Kingdom have been conveying increasingly tough positions and postures to Russia, which must be influenced by the United States.

Neither Russia nor the US led West can afford to lose this war, and NATO's direct intervention in the conflict increases the possibility of escalating the war. The ultimate development trend depends on their respective war determination and the game behind the scenes between major powers.
