Trump warns Netanyahu: Stop attacking Iran, or you'll have to fend for yourself alone

US President Trump told the American media that he warned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu that if he went to war with Iran again, he might find himself in a completely isolated situation.

In a phone interview published by the US news website Axios on Monday (June 8th), Trump said that Israel's plan to strike Iran on the 7th "was not informed to us until very late" and "they had already started the operation, but I eventually managed to stop them."

Trump said: "I told him, 'Bibi (Netanyahu's nickname), you'd better be careful. Otherwise, you'll soon be left all by yourself.'"

He said that five Middle Eastern countries had called to ask him to put pressure on Netanyahu, in an attempt to make him stop the military operation.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Netanyahu said in a television speech on the 8th that the current attacks on Iran have "ceased", but if Iran resumes attacking Israel, Israel will respond with force.

Netanyahu also said that Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon were attempting to retaliate against the Israeli military's attack on Lebanon by launching attacks on Israel. He could not accept this. Israel will continue to strike at its enemies and "defend itself when necessary".

From June 7th to 8th, Iran and Israel experienced the largest-scale military confrontation since the US-Israel-Iran ceasefire in early April. On June 8th, Trump posted on the social media platform Truth Social, saying, "Israel and Iran must immediately cease the hostilities." Both Iran and Israel announced the cessation of attacks against each other on the same day.
