Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday (January 6th) that he had held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine's defense against Russian attacks, and at the same time, was seeking to resolve this nearly four-year-long war through diplomatic means.

Just before the meeting of the "voluntary alliance" led by EU member states and supporting Ukraine, Zelensky posted on the social media platform X, stating that current diplomatic efforts and actual assistance must be carried out simultaneously.

Zelensky said that Russia has not ceased its attacks on Ukraine. "Now we need to strengthen our air defense capabilities in order to protect our people, communities and critical infrastructure."
